Congratulations to Marion for her for her table topics answer that won her Toastmaster’s of the day award. The table topics questions presented by Zain were along the meeting theme of ANZAC day. Marion told us a true story of how she was helping as an assistant school teacher telling the children about the effects of WII through her father’s socks, and how he liked hand knitting his own extra long ones, to cover and keep warm the part of his leg which he had ben shot through in the war. Marion’s Table Topic was all the more evocative of emotion, as her father had wanted to be a teacher but the war and his injury had put an end to that dream and instead Marion is recalling to a class of school children about his need for an extra thick woollen sock.
