Well structured, thoughtful, clear, helpful, sensitive and culturally aware are all words that come to my mind in describing the evaluation given by Marion to a speech given by one of our members for whom English is their second language.

Marion has learned and practiced the art of evaluation  and she can identify and demonstrate the words and phrases of  English that a second language speaker is trying to improve upon.

Today she gave examples of wrong pronunciations and came up with helpful recommendations particular to region of origin for the speaker when speaking in English.

Well done Marion many of us would shrink away from offering these suggestions in our evaluation for fear of offending. You know that this feedback is exactly what our speaker was looking for.

If you have the ambition to be a better and perhaps braver evaluator could I suggest Toastmasters is the place to learn and practice this magical skill
