Thanks Steve there was not a member present that really understood the history, complexity and reason for the forms or kata in Karate.
We all now know that they are a form of fighting practice or simulation for one on one, two on one or more combat situations.
Steve was given a standing ovation for the kata demonstrated to our group today and explanation of its various movements. The writer he would not like to be on the receiving end of any of the punches, kicks or body wrenching movements shown.
Toastmasters provides a simulator environment for these types of ‘speaking to inform’ speeches. They enable interactive teaching practice by a leader like Steve to a group. We all thought it was awesome.
