Peter Scholtens 2011-2012 New Zealand Toast Master of the Year

A huge congratulations goes to Peter Scholtens for winning the New Zealand’s top Toastmaster award this year.

The award is presented to the person whom has made the most significant and outstanding contribution to Toastmasters in New Zealand. It covers all aspects of TMs including Leadership, Communication, Contests and Membership and was presented at the recent District (National) Convention in Hamilton by Steve Bullock, the immediate past District Governor.

It is said that Toastmasters is “where leaders are made”, however really it is a temperate and fertile environment in which people grow themselves leaders into leaders. Peter has shown himself to be consistently super energetic in Toastmasters, being an active member of 4 clubs in District 72, participating in many Club, Area, and Division contests. He has sponsored 15 new members, ran 5 Speechcraft courses, and completed 15 communications and leadership awards (e.g. competent communicator and competent leadership manuals). He has grown himself into an inspirational example.

Peter’s level of enthusiasm, dedication, and leadership is not a one off affair either, as he was also the winner of the 2010-2011 Toastmaster of the year award.
