“Fellow Toastmasters and distinguished Club Presidents. Last Wednesday, MBIE Toastmasters held the G3 Area Humorous contest.
No laughing matter, we managed to pull a successful event and even shed a happy tear or two J
A huge thank you all our
contestants, Jonathan Cotton (Te Puni Korero), Amy Williams (Five
Crowns) and Hazel Bidmead (Terrace@12), who braced braved
themselves and put on an entertaining show to strangers for their fellow
Toastmasters.
The results of the contest are:
- Hazel – 1st place
- Amy – 2nd place
- Jonathan – 3rd place.
Congratulations, Hazel on winning the G3 Area Humorous contest. Hazel will now represent the G3 Area and compete at the Division Level. If Hazel is unable to compete at the Division level contest (against the best from half the Wellington Clubs), Amy will take her place, or Jonathan if both Hazel and Amy are unable to compete.
Amy and Jonathan, a well-deserved applause goes to you both for your entertaining speeches as well. Photo attached is the contestants with G3 Area Director, Kinnie Vermeulen and contest organiser, Colleen Daymond-King.
On behalf of Kinnie and MBIE Toastmasters, I would like to express my gratitude to contest organiser, Colleen Daymond-King, our contest judges and volunteers from MBIE Toastmasters to help run this successful event.
The next G3 Area contest will be the International Speech contest, hosted by our mates at Terrace@12, please refer to details below:
Date: Wednesday, 12th February 2020
Time: 12:00pm (contest starts on the hour, appreciate if you could arrive prior to 12pm)

Remember, one of the best way to learn is through others. These contests are a great way to learn off your fellow Toastmaster.
Ngā mihi”
