Congratulations to Thomas for winning the Toastmaster of the day award for his evaluation of Marian’s speech this week.

Evaluations are in many ways more tricky than speeches because of the need to listen, analyse, develop helpful recommendations, and then deliver the evaluation without practice before the meeting ends. Oh, and there is no peace and quiet to think, rather, all around you, there is noise, sometimes loud,  and movement, sometimes large and dramatic, as speakers try and grab the audience’s attention. All of this has the side effect of distracting the industrious evaluator. All in all, evaluations are a tall order.

Hence the applause for Thomas for the strides forward he has made, in the tricky art of speech evaluation.
